Four things move the price of a website: pages, language, images and booking.

Two businesses on the same street can pay different amounts for the same standard of work. The difference is not the trade: it is the pages that have to be written, the languages that have to stay in step, the images that have to be produced and the systems that have to be connected, each of them scoped and quoted in CHF, VAT included, before the work starts.

A page is something somebody has to write

The number of pages moves the price more than anything else, because every page is work done once and then kept true.

A page is not one more screen to scroll. It is text to write, a hierarchy to decide, a layout that has to hold on a phone, and content that still has to be accurate a year from now. That is why the packages differ first by how many pages they carry, from 3 to 8. Settle that number first: everything else arranges itself around it.

The count is easier backwards: not how many pages you would like, but how many somebody deciding whether to come to you actually needs. Three services do not become three pages simply because there are three of them. A page nobody opens is still a page to write now and to correct every time a price changes.

Pages added later are not a penalty. They are new scope, which we define and quote before we build it. Starting with what you need now costs less than paying today for a structure built for a business you do not have yet.

The second language, the images and the booking

After the pages there are three items. Two are paid for once. One comes back every time you change something.

A second language does not only double the copy at launch: it doubles every correction after it. Change an opening hour and you change it twice. Add a service and it has to be written twice. A second Latin-alphabet language comes with Lume 03, together with the complete copy; a third language, or one in a different alphabet, is not included in the packages.

For a business run in English here, the language in question is usually Italian. Before adding it, count which language the enquiries of the last two years actually arrived in: one that does not appear in that count is not a cost to take on yet.

Photographs are production, not a file to upload. Lume 01 carries no image work at all, so the photographs you already have need to be usable as they are. With Lume 02 the images you bring are selected and lightly corrected, so if they already exist there is no session to pay for. With Lume 03 the session is included: 15 to 25 essential iPhone photographs, and in the Mendrisiotto area only.

In the Mendrisiotto, the session is available as a CHF 290 extra for Lume 01 and Lume 02 where usable photographs do not exist: moving up a package is not the only way to get one. Outside the Mendrisiotto it is neither included nor offered as an extra. It is not a professional photography commission and it is not a video production, and permission to photograph places and people is always needed.

Booking is also paid for once, and what moves the price is where you want it to happen. If the platform you already run suits you, the site only has to lead there, and that route comes with Lume 01, so booking leaves the quote where it was. If you want somebody to book without leaving your pages, the same item takes you above Lume 01, because an integration has to be built and tested, not merely reached.

A back-office system, a till or a complex rate flow is not included in the packages. The platform’s own fee is not in the price of the website either way: the account is in your business’s name, and that cost stays yours before launch and after it.

After launch

The package price stops on the day the site goes live. What stays covered after it, and for how long, is worth knowing before you sign.

For 30 days from launch we fix bugs in the delivered scope. That is a warranty on what we built working as agreed: it is about what is broken, not about what you decided to change afterwards.

After those days nothing starts charging automatically. The site stays where it is and stays yours: hosting, domain and platform are held in your business’s name, so renewing them, moving them or handing them to somebody else is your decision, and the website quote carries no commitment that continues past launch.

None of these items buys an outcome. A larger package buys more surface: pages, a language, images, an integration. If an item is not useful to you today, paying for it does not make the site you get any better. What we stand behind is the approved scope and a site that works technically the day we publish it.

All package prices are VAT included. Indicative timings are 2 weeks for Lume 01, 3 weeks for Lume 02, 4 weeks for Lume 03, and they start from the confirmed start: valid acceptance, reconciled first payment, and the materials and access required.

The same practice, two different scopes

A dental practice that publishes its treatments, its opening hours and a way to ask for an appointment needs a handful of pages and a link to the diary it already runs. Now add a second dentist with a page of their own, a German version for patients from the rest of Switzerland, and photographs of the new rooms.

Those are three more things to write, to keep in step and to produce, and together they are a larger piece of work. Same method, same standard of build: what changed is the quantity, and the price followed it. Which packages exist, what each one includes and the terms that apply are on the services page.

Services and pricing

In your trade one of these items runs ahead of the others, and that one usually settles which package you need.

  • Restaurants

The page count follows the menu: one menu, or a menu plus a wine list, a lunch offer and events, each corrected whenever the kitchen changes.

  • Hotels

The number of rooms that need describing separately is also the number of pages that go into the quote, and a second language becomes a real cost as soon as the enquiries stop arriving in one language.

  • Barbers

Prices, opening hours and a way to book fit into very few pages: this is the trade where the smallest package is usually the right one.

The 3 packages are Lume 01: CHF 890 · Lume 02: CHF 1'290 · Lume 03: CHF 2'090, VAT included. Tell us how many pages you actually need and in how many languages: from there the quote is a short conversation. We reply within 3 working hours.
